Sydney Metro City and Southwest

INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION
DH Station

In 2022 Hurst was pleased to be awarded a contract to work on the Sydney Metro project.

This critical infrastructure project was created to integrate with the wider metro network and to achieve key objects such as increasing station capacity and efficiency, as well as improving accessibility and safety to enhance the passenger experience.

With this in mind, our portions of work involved the Hurst team working on Punchbowl and Dulwich Hill stations to deliver these key upgrades.

At Dulwich Hill the team was tasked with undertaking station upgrades and constructing a new services building.

As part of the 125 year old T3 Bankstown Line, works to bring the station to metro rail standards were intensive. At the conclusion of our portion of the project, Dulwich Hill now boasts lifts for the first time in its history, as well as platform screen doors for safety and a concourse that connects with the Light Rail Station.

The Hurst team stationed at Punchbowl worked to improve everything from the station structures to the station services and systems. These works culminated, in part, with the delivery of new lifts, the installation of innovative platform screen doors and level access between the platforms and trains for improved accessibility.

As one of our major projects, we were thrilled to deliver this project having met all key milestones.
